Keeping You Safe During Your Stay

As summer moves its way in, it's left many families wondering whether it's safe to travel during the Coronavirus outbreak. As of Friday, June 26th, 2020, the City of St. Augustine City Commission passed a resolution requiring that face coverings be worn while indoors when social distancing is not possible. We want to assure you that we are taking every precaution to make your stay at our bed and breakfast inns as safe as possible.

We encourage you to still visit St. Augustine and see all that our amazing historical city has to offer. There are many fun activities to do here that are educational and enjoyable for the whole family. Many businesses, restaurants, museums, attractions, and state parks have opened their doors to the public at limited capacities.

Whether you want to visit St. Augustine for a romantic getaway, a fun family trip, an unforgettable Honeymoon, or just a relaxing Florida beach vacation, you don't want to miss out on seeing some of the places that make the Old City so special. We happily recommend visiting the historic St. Augustine Forts, the haunted St. Augustine lighthouse, the Colonial Spanish Quarter, or the Alligator Farm.

Whether it's bright and sunny or dark and cloudy, there are a plethora of attractions to visit in this historical city. And if it's a little too hot out, don't worry – there are plenty of ways to stay cool in St. Augustine! Whether you're touring the streets, visiting the shops, parasailing the day away, or diving with the dolphins, there's never a shortage of stuff to do.

We understand that it's of the utmost importance to keep everyone safe, which is why our inns have been using the best safety and cleaning practices possible – as have the businesses and attractions opening their doors around us. As a city, we want to make sure everyone can still have a good time while practicing social distancing. Have fun with your significant other or your family as you make your way through our city.

While face coverings are mandatory while indoors where social distancing is not possible and are highly recommended elsewhere, that doesn't mean you have to stop having fun. Masks and best hygiene practices are for the safety of yourself and your family, as well as others and their families. Some places, such as Ripley's Believe It or Not Museum, require masks, but that doesn't mean it won't be just as enjoyable!

There are so many great ways to spend the day, even with social distancing. Get away from the hustle and bustle of daily life by heading over to Anastasia State Park to do some birdwatching and take in the lovely scenery. Want to make a splash? Go swimming in the ocean or spend the day on a fishing charter.

If you're looking to fill your stomach with some great food, rest assured that restaurants are open! They are currently offering seating at limited capacity, so you may want to call ahead and check their availability. However, this is a great opportunity to sit down and have some delicious food prepared for you, all while still practicing social distancing.

We encourage you to enjoy our culture, our history, our food, and our fun now that doors are re-opening with safety and sanitary precautions and procedures in place to protect you and your family, as well as others and our staff. Don't miss out – you'll have the vacation of a lifetime!

St. Augustine Historic Inns is an association of over two dozen historic bed and breakfast inns which offer hundreds of uniquely decorated and furnished rooms. In order to ensure the best possible safety for our guests and staff members, we have made a few temporary changes to the following services:

  • We're modifying our check-in policy to minimize guest and staff interaction as much as possible.
  • We have removed reading material in the rooms and common areas.
  • Unless otherwise requested, we are discontinuing daily service in your guestroom.
  • We have removed decorative pillows and other items from the rooms that cannot be removed, sanitized, and washed after each guest.
  • We are monitoring our staff's temperature on a daily basis for everyone's protection.

The above policies are in effect until further notice. In addition, we have also increased our cleaning protocols to better keep you safe:

  • We have ensured that we are using cleaning products that are effective against viruses.
  • We have increased our frequency of disinfecting surfaces, including common/public areas, to multiple times per day.
  • We launder all bed linens, including blankets and mattress pads, between each set of guests.
  • Our staff members are wearing masks and gloves and are using frequent hand washing practices to ensure we don't carry germs from one room to another.

As always:

  • Please remember that we are available all the time. If you have any questions, feel free to call your B&B's main phone number.
  • Please respect each other with social distancing.
  • Let's continue to do our part by washing our hands or using sanitizer frequently.

We hope to see you and your family enjoying yourselves in our Old City. There are so many adventures for you to embark on. We encourage social distancing and face coverings, and want everyone who visits our city to remain safe and healthy. We think a balance between safety and fun is possible and look forward to having you stay at our inns and enjoy the attractions all around us.
