Spring in St. Augustine means many things; warmer weather, romantic weekend getaways, fun girls weekend getaways and relaxing vacations. Here at St. Augustine Historic Inns we have a list of fun things to do this spring.

Starting with this weekend you don’t want to miss the St. Augustine Celtic Music & Heritage Festival Kicks off at 7:00pm on Friday, March 7, 2014. Get your tickets now for the Annual Whisky Tasting event or sign up for the Kickoff Celtic Pub Crawl.  The St. Patrick’s Day Parade starts at 10:00am on Saturday with fun for the entire family. And after the parade everyone will be heading over to Francis Field for the festival. There will be great music, cold beverages, Irish and Scottish food vendors and merchandise vendors from all over the country and then there’s the Highland Games. You’ll be amazed at some of the athletes as they challenge each other and themselves with traditional competitions such as the Scottish Hammer Throw, stone put and this writer’s favorite, the caber toss. If you haven’t seen it before, you should take the time to check it out. celticstaugustine.com

Music and fun continues all weekend. Tickets are available online and at the gate. This is one of the festivals that we never miss. The Celtic festivities will continue all week all around the city with music at all of the “Celtic” venues. Be sure to check out Ann O’Malley’s Deli & Pub, Barley Republic, Prince of Wales Pub, The Taberna de Caballo, The Bull and Crown and Meehan’s Irish Pub. All of these places and the festival are all within walking distance to all of St. Augustine’s Historic Inns. Click here for availability.

A fun Girls Weekend Getaway or even a Romantic Weekend Getaway would not be complete if you didn’t head over to the Conch House Marina Resort on any Sunday between March 2 – Sept 28 for RAGGAE SUNDAY! The music and the flowing drinks start at 3pm and end by 7pm. This is a St. Augustine local’s tradition. Come and join us.

If your romantic weekend getaway includes sailing, then this race might also be a great time for you and your sweetie. Wednesday, April 2 is the best day to catch this wonderful competition. Grab a picnic lunch and see about a charter from SailTime to get you out to where the competition is taking place.  The folks at the First Coast Offshore Challenge have invited the guests of St. Augustine Historic Inns to join them on Wednesday evening as the boats come back in and everyone celebrates at the Conch House Marina Resort. Rub elbows with the captains and enjoy dinner and drinks with the crews of the competing boats. fcoc2014.com
