Each year, St. Augustine celebrates the Easter holiday with a series of events including meet and greets with the Easter Bunny and Easter Egg Hunts. One event in particular attracts visitors from nearby states, worldwide, and southern Florida; The St. Augustine Easter Parade. Below is a list of Easter activities and details on things to do on Easter Sunday.
When: April 1st
- The Promenade starts at 12:30 pm.
- The Easter Parade starts at 3:00 pm.
Where: Downtown St. Augustine
Promenade: Modern-day St. Augustine participates in a Promenade each year before the Easter Parade. Travelers and locals are invited to participate by dressing in their Sunday best and accessorizing with bonnets, top hats, gloves, and jewelry. Participants are then judged and crowned. This year the categories are as follows: Best Dressed Little Boy, Best Dressed Little Girl, Best Dressed Mother and Daughter, Best Dressed Father and Son, Best Easter Hat, Best Dressed Pet, Best Dressed Family, and Farthest from Home. The Promenade takes place in the Plaza de la Constitucion.
Parade: At 3:00 pm the procession of bands, school teams, community floats, St. Augustine’s Royal Family, and the Easter Bunny begins at the Old Jail House and makes a loop through downtown St. Augustine ending the parade at the Visitor Information Center. This year the St. Augustine Easter Parade Grand Marshal is Miss Florida, Sarah Veng.
After the parade, at 5:00 pm, head to the Colonial Oak Outdoor Theatre for the Parade Award Winners announcements and a Fromajada tasting! Fromajadas are a cheese pastry derived from Spanish-Menorcan’s.
When: March 31st, 10:30 am to 12:30 pm
About: Keep your holiday weekend busy with family-friendly Easter activities at the Shores United Methodist Church. Eat a small breakfast that morning as the event will feature a continental breakfast buffet! Afterward, children of all ages are invited to partake in an Easter egg hunt, and photos with the Easter Bunny.
When: March 17th and 24th, 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm
Where: Toys R Us Outlet Center
About: The Toys R Us Outlet, located at the St. Augustine Outlet, invite children and parents to celebrate Easter on two Saturdays in March. Along with photo opportunities during the meet and greet with the Easter Bunny, children will create one-of-a-kind crafts like bunny door hangers, bunny masks, and bunny magnets.
Easter Egg Hunts
When: March 22, 6:00 pm to 7:00 pm
About: This year the YMCA put a unique twist on the traditional egg hunt. Children, ages 5 to 12, are invited to collect Easter eggs in the YMCA pool for an underwater hunt! Afterward, they can bring their eggs to the Bunny Store and trade their findings in for special prizes.
When: March 29th and 31st, begins at 10:30 am

About: Per annual tradition, St. Johns County Parks and Recreation is hosting four Easter egg hunts this year! Children eight and younger are invited to partake in a fun-filled morning collecting hidden eggs at local parks. At 10:30 am there will be a surprise visit by a special person. Can you guess who?
When: March 31st, 8:00 am to 2:00 pm
Where: Adventure Landing
About: Adventure Landing presents their annual Easter Egg Hunt and Easter Bunny meet and greet! This special event costs $3.00 per child and all proceeds are donated to the American Red Cross Volunteer Life Saving Corporation. Children will be broken into age groups and there will be a hunt for each group of children, that way everyone can participate! This event will feature special prizes, golden eggs, Easter specials, and charity raffles.
Teams must register by Saturday, March 17th.
When: March 31st
Where: Begins at Brewz N Dawgz and continues throughout Downtown St. Augustine.
About: It’s not often that you find Easter activities for adults, however, this year St. Augustine will host its very first Easter Keg Hunt courtesy of Brewz N Dawgz! Teams, three to six people, are invited to participate in the adults-only race and must be registered by March 17th. The Saturday before Easter, teams will meet at Brewz N Dawgz where they will receive a series of clues to help them find several Easter kegs that are hidden downtown. The winning team will be titled as the first-ever winner of the Easter Keg Hunt and receive attire and beer from a local brewery. Teams will also be judged for “Best Team Costume.”
