St Augustine Amphitheater

St Augustine is such a charming, historic region, and there is a wide variety of activities and attractions to find here. In 1965, the Amphi Theatre was built as a performing arts venue. The amphitheatre includes 16 acres and is located within the Anastasia State Park. The Amphi Theatre was built through donations of time and money by St John's County as well as local clubs, companies and organizations, making it a contribution by the community for the community. In 2007, the 5 year project to refurbish the Amphi Theatre was completed, and today it is a state of the art performing arts venue. The improved theatre includes a 4,500 person capacity, a brand new conference room, 4 concession stands, a merchandise area, a large plaza and an arboretum of walking trails. The Amphi Theatre hosts concerts, festivals, as well as show movies both new and old, making it a performing arts venue as well as Movie Theatre.
Widely recognized as one of North Florida's top cultural organizations, the Limelight Theatre features all genres of plays and theatrical productions. The organization was founded in 1992, and has held productions in locations including the Art Association, local churches, the Amphi Theatre, Marineland, and Flagler College. After 16 seasons, the Limelight Theatre has produced over 100 main stage shows that include comedies, dramas, and musicals. The Limelight Theatre is something guests to the area should not miss! The Imax is located at the World Golf Hall of Fame, and is one of the many unique things To Do. The IMAX theater features an 80-foot wide by six-story-high screen and seating for up to 300 people. The theater features movies all year long for visitors of any age – from the young to the young at heart. The Imax also hosts group and special events, as well as birthday parties.
Along the same lines is the Murder Watch Mystery Theater. Performances of whodunit shows that include crimes, clues, detectives, and audience participation is a favorite of visitors.
