Old St Augustine Village

The downtown region of St Augustine is filled with historic places like Ponce de Leon Hall located on the Flagler College campus, which was originally one of the first luxury hotels built in the area. The city has numerous other examples of Spanish Colonial architecture including the Cathedral Basilica of St Augustine, which is known as America's "First Parish". Old St Augustine Village is one of the most historic regions of the Old City, and it is situated in one small block! Visitors enjoying a Beach Vacation can tour the village and see all of the nine historic homes that are included in this collection.
The homes and buildings included in the Old Village date back to a variety of periods in the city's history, with the oldest one dating back more than 200 years (The Prince-Murat House, circa 1790). The interior of a few of the homes have been transformed into exhibit halls, and visitors can tour the five historic galleries found in the Old Village. Other homes have beautifully manicured courtyards and gardens that lead throughout the village. Take a Tour of the Old Village, and enjoy seeing historic homes and buildings like The Canova House (circa 1840), The Dow House (circa 1839), and the Star General Store (circa 1899). In addition to touring through the old homes and courtyards, visitors can also catch a glimpse at the 1572 town plans and archeological record of a 16th century hospital and cemetery.
The Old Village is open each day Monday through Saturday from 10 to 4:30 and Sundays from 11 to 4:30. These tours last approximately thirty minutes and are a great way to learn more facts about the Old City and brush up on your history. The entrance can be found on Cordova Street, just south of the Casa Monica Hotel.
