2009 marks the 16th year of the annual St. Augustine Historic Inns “Bed and Breakfast Holiday Tour” benefiting the St. Augustine Record "Empty Stocking Fund". The highlight of the city’s two month long Night’s of Lights Celebration, this much anticipated two day event will be held on Saturday, December 12th and Sunday, December 13th from 2pm-5pm, featuring half of the 25 inn locations each day.
The Bed and Breakfast Holiday Tour has become a tradition in St. Augustine, showcasing the city’s array of beautiful Inns decked out in their holiday finery. Your ticket includes tours on both days, a delicious signature treat from a leading local culinary establishment that partners with each inn, and a chance to meet artists from local galleries who will be displaying their talents at selected Bed and Breakfast locations. Old Town Trolley, a returning sponsor will provide transportation for those who would prefer to ride to the multiple drop off points, and Winn Dixie Stores a new sponsor this year, will be on hand to offer hot chocolate and a complimentary grocery tote bag to each tour guest when they claim their tickets at the Visitors Information Center on San Marco. SAHI, The Record, Herbie Wiles Insurance, Old City.com and philanthropist Peggy Henry round out the generous sponsors that have made this year’s event possible and a “must do” for the 2009 holiday season!
Each year the St. Augustine Historic Inns (SAHI) choose a charity to receive a gift representing a portion of the funds raised. This year they have once again selected the “Empty Stocking Fund”. This important St. Augustine Record initiative ensures the joy of the season with food and gift cards to local economically disadvantaged children and their families.
